Have You Assessed Your Use of Time Management Principles in Your

Posted by external | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 26-09-2011

The principles and strategies of time management can and should be integrated into everyone?s business regardless of online or offline. It seems to be a fact of business life on the internet that you have to become as efficient as possible so you can get everything done. But, if you think it is bad in the beginning, wait until later on when you are managing multiple businesses with attendant marketing and advertising campaigns, etc. This is why you?ll need to start working on it right from the beginning stage, you?ll find that you?ll get better at it as you progress. No matter whether your on the web organization is about Girls wii games or any other topic, it is critical that you concentrate on time management.

Don?t confuse time management with being hasty or hurrying up with a task. As you know very well, when you hurry through with anything there is a chance of making mistakes, etc. Learning how to systematically approach your business tasks and apply what is most effective is what this is about. So the thing to remember is to actually take a relaxed and analytical approach with this. Right from the start to the finish of a task, your focus should be on quality, while you keep an eye on the time.

If you look at your business and analyze what you do, your hierarchy of priorities will begin to come into focus. Imagine if you were not clear about priorities and worked on something that is less important when something else really should be attended to. Eventually, time management is all about being sure of the tasks you?re taking care of, and to execute them in a perfect manner, while still having time on hand. One very nice and welcomed benefit when you put all this into action is you will notice less daily stress. As an example, if you?re operating to grow your we cheer 2 organization, then it is possible to develop a list of related tasks to work on.

Focus on the now, because by focusing on what you?re doing is far better than thinking aggressively about what needs to be done in the future. This is also something helpful for lowering stress levels because you will not be stressing over future events. Be careful you do not overload your self with all this self-improvement stuff; you do not want to get frustrated or stressed too much and give up. Your focus shouldn?t be scattered around, nor should be it be too vague, because remember, when you?re trying to manage your time, you?re in essence managing yourself.

Time management takes a great deal of dedication on your part because without being dedicated in your quest to make the most out of your time, it?s impossible to see results. It is a process that you can continue to refine and improve as time passes. What will keep you going and actually get excited is when the time you save and greater efficiency with which you work starts to make you more money. Then it will all have a momentum that you will not want to ever stop for any reason. So the more you concentrate on time management, the better you?ll be able to grow your Littlest Pet Shop related on the web organization.

More exacerbations in lung patients, Q fever risk increasing with number of livestock close by

Amsterdam, The Netherlands: Emissions from livestock farms cause asthma and COPD patients living nearby to experience more exacerbations, according to research presented today at the European Respiratory Society's Annual Congress in Amsterdam.

Also, chances of contracting Q fever from nearby sheep and goat farms increased with the number of animals rather than with the number of farms, the research found, hinting at higher health risks from 'mega farms'.

The researchers, from Utrecht University, measured increased levels of particulate matter containing microbes and microbial toxins near livestock farms. They studied health effects by screening medical records from 50 general practitioners servicing 200,000 patients in regions with high and low densities of livestock farms.

In regions with many livestock farms, doctors reported less asthma, COPD, upper respiratory tract infections and hay fever, a result that mimics some earlier studies that saw less allergies in children who grown up on farms. In this study, the medical records did not specify whether symptoms were allergy- related, so the researchers do not know whether the effect is indeed limited to allergies.

The research however also showed that in areas with many livestock farms, people who suffer from asthma or COPD developed twice as much pneumonia and upper respiratory tract infections than people in regions with little livestock activity. The overall prevalence of pneumonia also was higher in high-density areas.

The study period included an unusually severe outbreak of Q fever, an infectious disease of cattle, sheep or goats, which can cause flu-like symptoms and pneumonia in humans. Between 2007 and 2010, close to 4,000 people in the Netherlands became ill; at least ten of them died.

The researchers found that the risk of contracting Q fever increased with the proximity of sheep farms or goat farms. An even stronger correlation was found between Q fever risk and the number of animals kept in the area, suggesting that mega farms could bring more environmental health risks than smaller farms.

The study contributes to on-going debates about intensive animal farming in densely populated regions in countries such as Germany and the Netherlands.

Lead researcher Dr Lidwien Smit said: "Our study is one of the first to show that living close to farms leads to exacerbation of symptoms for people with lung conditions and that during a Q fever outbreak, the risk of contracting Q fever increased with the number of livestock animals kept close by."

BOXING AT THE AVIVA STADIUM - LATEST IABA NEWS - Irish ...

IABA/DCC Boxing in the Community Development Officers

AVIVA STADIUM REPORT: July, 2011

Compiled by- Oisin Fagan/Paul Quinn, on behalf of the Boxing Officers

Programme Statistics

72 groups

1040 young people

76 senior citizens

23 special needs participants

The IABA/DCC Boxing in the Community Officers recently collaborated with the management company in the Aviva Stadium, including Stadium Director Martin Murphy, Deputy Operations Manager Frank Maguire and FAI CEO John Delaney. We met and agreed on a fantastic opportunity, which would optimise the use of this fantastic new arena; whilst at the same time, entertaining, educating and most importantly, positively influencing communities in Dublin's inner city ? ALL FREE OF CHARGE! From a boxing perspective, the introduction of young people to our sport was of major concern.

The 'brain-storming session' commenced and both parties came up with some good ideas. The Aviva Stadium offered us the Garda Conference Room as our base, located inside the stadium, at the Landsdowne Lane entrance and they granted us full-use of the room, allowing us the authority to design it how we felt would further-enhance our programmes, throughout the whole month of July.

Initially, we sent out information packets to all the youth clubs, summer projects, and recreation centres within the confines of inner-city Dublin, to tell them our ideas and to take bookings for our programme, in 3 x 2 hr sessions, for the month of July. We then sat down and designed our Aviva Stadium Tour/Start-Box/Exhibition Programme and came up with a four-fold strategy, which entailed the following:-

1) THE AVIVA STADIUM TOUR:

First of all, the boxing officers, who included, Oisin Fagan, Michael Carruth, Paul Quinn, Thomas Ahern and Eric Donovan, attended a special tour of the Aviva Stadium held by the Chief Tour-Guide, where we asked questions and took notes about the predominant details of how the stadium was formed and how it was run.

This whole process, of course, was initialised by the demolition of the old Landsdowne Road and reconstructed to the all new, 'grade one' arena, known as The Aviva Stadium. The information was vast and the tour included a trip to the Media Centre, where the journalists would assemble before the game and prior to entering the auditorium for press conferences. This auditorium was one of our stops as 'new tour-guides', where we took our groups to watch a 12-minute DVD, accompanied by some powerful music; all encompassing, the demolition-footage of a ailing, old-fashioned Landsdowne Road grounds, yet climaxing, with the bright, new Aviva Stadium, (which aptly means ?spring time? or ?young grain?; which ironically, symbolises rejuvenation within this stadium).

Then the tour continued to the players entrance, dressing-rooms and shower/hydrotherapy/plunge-pool areas, before heading out pitch side to sit in the home-side's dug-outs, where the Irish rugby and soccer managers, subs and greater entourage, would sit during the games.

The main Aviva Stadium Tour finished with a trip to the 5th level, where the groups could get a birds-eye view of the fantastic arena.

Our programme didn't finish there however, and we continued to the Garda Conference Room where we had assembled our gym.

2) STARTBOX PROGRAMME:

As boxing officers, our predominant goals throughout our summer-schedule, was to reach out to 'at-risk' children and young people, not to mention, disadvantaged communities in general, by giving them an interest in the sport of boxing and promoting healthy lifestyles. Furthermore, in contemporary times, it has been proven that being involved in boxing, establishes a positive-focus in participant's lives. So, we were banking on the possibility that the students would recognise the benefits that come from our great sport and they'd hopefully acquire such an interest that they would be confident enough to find a local boxing club and begin their own journey down the road, as amateur boxers. Therefore, when the Aviva Stadium, gave us full-reign over the Garda Conference Room, this gave us the perfect opportunity to design a gym, along the same lines as the High Performance Gym at the National Stadium, Dublin.

We had the gym all-decked-out with heavy bags, ropes, and even erected a full-sized ring, which was not only aesthetically pleasing and a great visual effect, but it definitely inspired and motivated these young people. We brought our groups in and warmed them up in the ring. Then we split them into manageable groups, where some of us would take the participants on pads inside the ring, some went on the bags and the remainder on the ropes and we rotated, so that everyone could get a taste of all the stations required. The students seemed to find these activities extremely enjoyable and we found that it definitely whet their appetites for the sport of boxing.

3) IABA 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION:

In honour of our fantastic history as a boxing nation, we hunted down some of our boxing heroes, both past and present, to ask them if they would donate their medals, trophies, belts and cups to go on show at the IABA Exhibition. Most of the boxers were only delighted to comply, so in the exhibition, we were excited to be able to show the young people on the tour, the 5-medals won in last year's European Championships, just for starters. Not only that, but incredibly, on one of the days, all the medal-winners from the RTE/Irish Sports Council ?Irish Team of the Year 2010?. Including Kenneth Egan, Tyrone McCullough, Darren O Neill, Paddy Barnes and our very own Eric Donovan, attended our exhibition, to the delight of the young people who took the tour.

We were also graced with a variety of National perpetual cups and trophies, as well as a number of national and international belts. However, by far the highlight of the exhibition was still to come, where Michael Carruth allowed his Olympic Gold Medal and Belt, which he'd won in the 1992 Olympics, Barcelona, to be displayed, for everyone to see. The young people were in awe of all the gold, silver and bronze on show and had great fun listening to all the old boxing-stories of how the champions had won their titles and medals. It also gave them the rare chance of trying on the various belts and medals, for a myriad of photo opportunities.

4) MEDIA DISPLAY:

Also, within the confines of the Garda Conference Room and along the walls of the gym, Aideen O Connor of the DCC kindly printed out hundreds of poster-sized photographs and helped erect them on the walls. The posters included many of our heroes in action, both past and present. We also had the use of 3 televisions, where we screened the motivational video, pertaining to the Irish boxing team training in Milan- all accompanied with some up-beat music. This too, went down extremely well with the participants.? ?

5) CONCLUSION/FACTS

We spent from Tuesday 5th to Friday 29th July 2011 (excluding Wednesday 27th July) at the Aviva Stadium.

In all, we worked with at total of 72 groups; including, youth diversion projects, training employment centres, early school leavers, summer projects, autistic groups, the deaf society, youth projects, recreation centres, boxing clubs, and accompanied by DCC Sport & Recreation Officers special needs groups and senior citizens.

We dealt with young people of all shapes and sizes, of mixed gender, race, ethnicity, religion, ability and age.

Our target area consisted of all Dublin City Council city locations.

Our target group included participants between the ages of 10-21.

The final tally of participants, which the IABA/DCC Boxing in the Community Development Officers worked with, over the space of a total of just 18 days at the Aviva Stadium, came to a grand total of 1040 young people, 76 senior citizens, and 23 special needs participants.

Not surprisingly, the Aviva Stadium Tour/StartBox Exhibition Programme has indeed been deemed a huge success, not only by the participant's themselves, but very positive feedback? has been received, in the form of? letters, texts and other multi-media outlets, from dignitaries, group leaders, managers and social workers alike.

We would like to thank Aideen O Connor, John Delaney, Martin Murphy, Frank Maguire and all of the staff at the Aviva Stadium for embracing this project and recognising its value to local community. Martin and Frank have even suggested the possibility of further collaborations in the stadium. Over-all, this was a fantastic experience for both ourselves and the participants.

?

?? Consequently, with the help of the Aviva Stadium it is a programme that the boxing officers will seriously have to think about revisiting with a view to targeting our school groups at a later date.

Google app update brings video hangouts to the iPhone (Digital Trends)

google_circles

Google just rolled out a beefy update to the official?Google+ iPhone app which includes the ability to enter a video chat while mobile with other mobile users or users on a personal computer with a webcam. If a friend starts a hangout stream on Google+, the user can simply click ?Join? and the video screen appears on the iPhone. As new people join the hangout, notifications pop up on the iPhone screen and the user can add any of these people to a circle during the video stream. The app also allows the users to switch between the two cameras on the smartphone as well as mute the audio in case the user needs to switch to headphones for a private call.

google-plus-hangoutsIn addition to mobile hangout support, the Huddle feature has been rebranded to Messenger and allows for photo support. Photos can be snapped?immediately?or brought up from the photo library. Users also now have the ability to +1 comments within the app as well as view a map within the profile for previous homes throughout the life of the profile. Google has also given the user vastly more control over specific notifications. For instance, users can turn notifications on and off when being tagged within a photo or when another user requests a tag. Other notification tweaks include comments, shares, mentions, follow-up comments or when another user adds them to a?circle.

Beyond a smattering of bug fixes to round out the new version, this update doesn?t include iPad support. Users will need to use the Web version of Google+ or the iPhone app in zoom mode if browsing on an iPad. Rival social network Facebook has yet to release an iPad-optimized version as well and will likely continue to rely on the Web version of the site in the future.

Europe hastens to build up debt crisis defenses (Reuters)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) ? European policymakers are quickening their preparations to cope with an escalation of the region's debt crisis as talk of a possible Greek default gained pace on Friday.

Finance chiefs from around the world have turned up the heat on Europe to do more to prevent Greece's debt crisis from infecting other euro zone countries and the world economy.

Concern now appeared to be turning toward safeguarding the banking system more than rescuing Greece, as international lenders were increasingly losing patience with Athens consistently missing fiscal and reform targets.

"They have six weeks to resolve this crisis," said British finance minister George Osborne, speaking on the sidelines of semi-annual policy discussions in Washington.

Euro zone leaders need to have the situation under control by the time leaders of the Group of 20 economies meet in France in November, he said.

World stock markets, which had plunged to a 14-month low on fears about the scale of the euro zone crisis, steadied after European Central Bank officials said they would use more firepower to help the banking system through the crisis.

Pressure is growing on European governments for a recapitalization of the region's banks to strengthen them in the event of a Greek default.

At the same time, European policy-makers seemed to be warming to the idea of giving more muscle to their bailout fund which would be tested in the event of a Greek debt default.

Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos was quoted by two newspapers as saying an orderly default with a 50 percent haircut for bondholders was one way to resolve the heavily indebted euro zone nation's cash crunch.

Greece is in tense talks with the International Monetary Fund and European authorities, known as the troika, to secure a new 8 billion-euro installment of its rescue package to avoid bankruptcy in October in return for austerity measures.

The Greek finance minister is due to meet the head of the IMF on Sunday.

Negotiators have expressed frustration at what they say is Greece's slow pace. "The troika officials said they were going over again measures they had agreed to months before. They said they had a sense of deja vu," a source close to the inspectors said on condition of anonymity.

After October's loan payment, which is widely expected to be made, the next installment is due in December.

European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet urged authorities to take decisive action, saying risks to the financial system had "increased considerably."

Lawrence Summers, former U.S. Treasury secretary, gave a somber of assessment of the dangers facing the world economy, including the U.S. economy slowing to almost a standstill.

"This is the 20th annual meeting (of the IMF and World Bank) I've been privileged to attend. There has not been a prior meeting at which matters have had more gravity and at which I have been more concerned about the future of the global economy," Summers told a discussion panel.

PUZZLE PIECES

As European policymakers looked to piece together a bolder crisis-fighting strategy, investors took some relief as three officials said the ECB could revive its one-year liquidity lines to shore up banks.

"I think it might be advisable to think about reintroducing this approach," ECB governing council member Ewald Nowotny said.

The IMF, which has been pressing aggressively for a recapitalization of Europe's banks, reckons the debt crisis has increased their risk exposure by 300 billion euros.

In a sign Europe was coming to terms with the idea of a recapitalization, France's top market regulator said 15 to 20 banks needed extra capital, although no French ones "at this stage.

The growing talk of a Greek default met with stiff opposition from Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel. She told a meeting of her political party members that was not an option for her because it might trigger a domino effect in other struggling economies. "The damage would be impossible to predict," Merkel warned.

Politicians in northern Europe, especially in Germany, have opposed dedicating more money to fight a crisis that they see as caused by the profligacy of countries such as Greece.

ECB governing council member Klaas Knot told a Dutch daily a Greek default could no longer be ruled out, the first ECB policymaker to speak openly of the prospect.

That warning was echoed by the IMF's top official in Europe, Antonio Borges: "If the Greeks do what they have to do there will be no default. But on the other hand if they hesitate, procrastinate, find it impossible etc., then it is very hard to avoid it."

MARKET HOPES

G20 finance ministers and central bankers had pledged on Thursday to "take all necessary actions to preserve the stability of the banking system and financial markets as required," a statement that failed to placate investors.

The G20 statement, issued after talks in Washington, said the 17-nation euro zone would implement actions to "maximize" the impact of the region's bailout fund by mid-October.

G20 participants did not say how the 440 billion-euro European Financial Stability Facility might be altered although French Finance Minister Francois Baroin used the word "leverage" in comments to reporters.

The United States has called on Europe to leverage up the EFSF to give it more firepower.

Government cost-overruns: $16 muffins, $8 coffee

As the U.S. government grapples to find ways to trim the bloated federal deficit, a new report suggests officials might start with cutting out $16 muffins and $10 cookies.

"We found the Department (of Justice) spent $16 on each of the 250 muffins served at an August 2009 legal conference in Washington," said a DOJ Office of Inspector General report released on Tuesday.

The DOJ spent $121 million on conferences in fiscal 2008 and 2009, which exceeded its own spending limits and appeared to be extravagant and wasteful, according to the report that examined 10 conferences held during that period.

The review turned up the expensive muffins, which came from the Capital Hilton Hotel just blocks from the White House, as well as cookies and brownies that cost almost $10 each.

The department spent $32 per person on snacks of Cracker Jack, popcorn, and candy bars and coffee that cost $8.24 per cup at another conference, the report said.

The DOJ also spent nearly $600,000 for event planning services for five conferences, the document said.

'People are outraged, and rightly so'
A Justice Department spokeswoman said most of the gatherings were held when there were no strict limits on food and beverage costs, adding the DOJ had taken steps since 2009 "to ensure that these problems do not occur again."

Word of the agency's extravagant spending drew a swift response from Capitol Hill.

Senator Chuck Grassley, the senior Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee which has oversight of the Justice Department, said the report was a blueprint for the first cuts that should be made by the "super committee" searching for at least $1.2 trillion in savings.

"Sixteen dollar muffins and $600,000 for event planning services are what make Americans cynical about government and why they are demanding change," Grassley said in a statement. "People are outraged, and rightly so."

Police: Radical sect kills 2 in northeast Nigeria (AP)

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria ? Police in northeast Nigeria say suspected members of a radical Muslim sect have killed a lawyer and an employee of the state emergency management agency.

Borno state police commissioner Simeone Midenda said Thursday that the attacks happened Wednesday night in Maiduguri, the city where the sect once had their main mosque.

Midenda said four gunmen armed with Kalashnikov rifles killed the two men at their homes. No arrests have been made.

Boko Haram, whose name means "Western education is sacrilege" in the local Hausa language, has carried out increasingly violent sectarian attacks over the last year.
